We made sure to take advantage of our first day of summer up here in our new place. There is a trail that leads to a lake just around the corner from our new house. We were all very eager to get to it so we could explore.

Cooper stopped to take a drink every 5 feet....I guess that is a good thing, at least he won't dehydrate!
The Trail Head...

The trail to the lake is so steep, but so amazing. The trail to the lake is hot, but not so steep.

There were all kinds of little fish, these guys were so happy to poke them and watch them scatter..
The trail around the lake was great. We felt like we were camping, yet our house was only a few steps away..
When they were done poking fish they wanted to throw all of the sticks, and rocks into the lake. I loved watching them run around trying to find the perfect stick, or rock and then giggle at the splashes they made.
Jackson tried with all of his might to get this giant log in...in the end he decided that a smaller one would work better!

Its hard to see, but way out there there is a turtle basking in the sun.. We sat and watched it for a few minutes. I don't know if I have ever seen a turtle in the wild.. pretty awesome!
