A cool lake called lost creek, scout camp, Mommy Cooper day and Jackson's 9th birthday part one.

Being out doors is our thing. We love to be out in it getting down and dirty. We found a lake called Lost Creek about and hour a way from our house. We had plans to fish and bring our catches home. However our plans and the fish didn't agree. While we were waiting for bites on our lines, cooper noticed a crawdad in the water. We caught it just for fun, and then we started to notice a whole bunch of them, so we started catching the crawdads instead. Mike and I were telling the boys how yummy they are to eat.  We told them that when we got home we would show them how to cook them. They were very excited. We only caught 6 of them, but it was enough to get a taste. We have big plans to do it again..

Jackson has been looking forward to his first scout camp. He was up bright and early and ready to go. I dropped him off around 7am, and told him to not miss me too much! I don't think he missed me at all. But he had so much fun. He did the canoes and shot a bebe gun, and arrows. He even bought himself a real pocket knife. He came home bigger and more grown up. I am so proud of this little dude...

While Jackson was away at camp, Cooper and I took the day to just play. I love spending one on one time with my boys. I would have taken more pictures, but my camera battery was almost dead.  We had fun goofing off together.

Jacksons Birthday:



Jackson, are you really 9? how can that be, it came up so fast. It seems like yesterday we were bringing home our new little baby,and yet here you are, so big and so grown up. and so not little!

Jacksons birthday went on for about a weekish. Mikes parents came down for cake, ice cream, and presents on his birthday. and later in the week he had a friend birthday party.

Jacks wanted a bug cake. I am not a master at making cakes look cool. But I try.

This is what it looked like when I was all done. Jackson was so excited, he told me it was the coolest cake ever! and even though I thought it looked a little retarted, jacksons reaction made all of my insecurities about the cake melt away. Thanks Bud..

We had so much fun with jackson on his birthday. And We loved having Mikes parents over to celebrate with us. After Mikes parents went home our neighbors came over for some funnel cakes and night games...

After we ate our funnel cakes we headed out to the front yard to play kick the can. we played for about an hour. Thank you Bob and Mindy and fam. for a fun night. We are excited for the next night game adventure.


I am thankful for the simple things in life, its so easy to get caught up in the thick of thin things. More and more I am seeing how and where I would like my life to go. Starting at the top: I want to be a good Mom, and Wife because I love these people the most. I want to do nice things for the people around me because everyone needs a friend. I am not worried about staying up on the latest fashion because it is too tiring and I just cant keep up. Plus I feel like you loose who you are a little,  paying too much attention to what every one else thinks about how you look. Find out who you are and be yourself, don't be who everyone else is telling you to be. I want to learn more, read more, write more. This life can be simple, ( I am not saying this life can be without trial,) but its when we get caught up in the silliness of things that life can get complicated.
