St. George Utah is a trip we take every year. We love it, the boys love it, and its fun, and easy to get to.
The first day we drove down, and swam and got ready for the rest of the week.
We stopped to stretch our legs and get a snack and take a few pictures with this statue . (I was a bit more enthusiastic then my boys were.)
Once we got there we ran to the pool.. It was a million degrees there. I think it hit between 110 and 112 all week. The only way to stay sane was to be in the water.. We swam ALOT.
The boys swimming lessons have come in handy.
Day Two:
On day two Mike had to be at a training in the morning for his job, so the boys and I spent our time in the pool goofing off and staying cool while we waited for him to come back.
Our plans that day were to go to Grafton ( a ghost town)and to Sand Hollow ( an awesome lake.)
We have been here before when Jackson was a baby. It felt so different this time. It is amazing to see the history of the people that lived here. To think that these people were really here at some point in time is almost too hard to believe.
Each Building has its own story. This was the school/ church house. There is a picture of a Teacher and her students in the window taken in 1906.
This one was a house. It had the name of the owner near it, but I can't remember.
This is another house. It is so tiny. I don't know how anyone lived comfortably here. I have so much respect for these people.
Can you find the Lizard?
The inside of the tiny house.. Mike and I are such Giants... if this were our house there would be alot of cussing going on, I know we would be hitting our heads on the door ways every time we walked through a door.
I barely fit..
These people are amazing.
The view outside was pretty amazing too. I can see why this would be a place to settle down in.
After we visited the town, we stopped by their cemetery. Kindof creepy, but fun to read the dates on the head stones.
This is the bridge to take to get to the Ghost Town.
After Grafton we stopped at a rock shop to get some keep sakes for the boys. They love rocks so much. I love to watch them. Who knew that rocks would be the coolest things EVER?!!
Then we went to the Lake to Cool off. We loved walking around and exploring, but we paid the price for it too. Sweat from head to toe.. It felt sooooooo good to jump into the lake.. You could hear the sizzle coming off of our bodies...Love Utah and all of its very HOT days.
Mud Monsters...
Cooper being a Seal.. I think he pulled it off perfectly!!
I really really love this lake..
After a long hot day of play we were ready for a nice cool night of sleep.. My boys were out before we could kiss them good night.. Look how quiet and peaceful they look....They slept great that night, and its a good thing they did cuz the next day was going to be just as busy...
Day three coming up......
