Thanksgiving 2014

Oh my Goodness, we had such a fun Thanksgiving!

This Year we did our own with our little family of 4. It was so fun to wake up late and stay home and just be a family. Mike and I have been planning this day for weeks.
Now you have to understand Mike. He loves food, he loves to eat it, and cook it, and BBQ it, and Smoke it, and etc..... This man is all about food.
I too love food. But I don't cook, or BBQ, or really any of that stuff, but I am great at eating it!!!

Thanksgiving is a time for Mike to show off his awesome food skills, and a time for the rest of us to wait impatiently to eat it. Its hard to wait, all of the smells are so tempting, and everything looks way too yummy!!

While Mike took care of our Feast, The boys and I played games for a huge part of the day. We almost cleaned out our game closet. Honestly this was the best part of this Holiday, no obilgation to anyone, and the only requirment was to eat the turkey, one we were willing to accept with out complaint!!

These boys of mine and my Hubs, are the brightest part of my life. The reason why? Because look at them. They are wonderful. It is for sure not always all smiles, but I never regret these choices. When Mike and I started dating, I knew he was the person I wanted to spend the rest of my eternity with. He was so different from any other guy I had dated, and it was a huge breath of fresh air. He made me happy, Period.
He wasn't concerned about the clothes I wore, in fashion or not, he still liked me. He didn't care that I am sonetimes loud, and can be obnoxious. (What can I say, I do like to be silly) He went with it, because he is a little that way too.
He saw me in a way I never saw myself, which has meant so much. He has held me up and held my hand through so many of lifes experiences. He is so great..

And these boys? Where do I even start. They have had my heart from the moment I knew we were going to have them. I am so in love with my boys. Their smiles, they laughs, their hugs and kisses, their sweet trusting eyes. Everything about these darling babes of mine makes my whole heart happy. I love them to the Moon and back..

One of the coolest things we like to do for this awesome Holiday is to have appetizers. This is something Mikes family has done for years, and it is something we will continue for years. This Holiday is about Family and Food, and the Lees are not joking when it comes to the Food side. We had lil smokies, deviled eggs, and stuffed Mushroooms. ( if I knew french, I would insert a french saying right here. ha ha!! ) Since I don't know French, I will just say it the way we Americans do " Yummm, gimme some more!!"

Mikes Stuffing.. To die for..

Now I realize that this here Turkey looks burnt. Its not, I promise. Mike, like I said is a whiz with food. He got up super early and put this baby in his super cool smoker and smoked this bird to perfection!! Mouth watering perfect turkey perfection. We are doing this again, cuz it blew our socks off!!

Here we are getting ready to dig in.. Oh how we had waited all day for this meal. Pined for it. It was hard to get through these pictures because we wanted this meal so badly. ha ha.

We all piled our plates up high and sat and savored everybite. We had such a great time, even our sweet boys enjoyed all of the amazing food Mike prepared for us. It was great to sit and talk and laugh together.

And After the Meal and before the Pie, we all snuggled together and watched Muppets Christmas Carol. Really what happened is we all snuggled up and put on the movie and the boys watched it while Mike and I slept. Its hard being a grown up. I use to think it was so strange when we would all go to my Grandmas for Thanksgiving when I was a kid, and all of the adults would crash on the couch and fall asleep, and all of the kids ran around wild. But I get it now, Its impossible to be a grown up and not fall asleep after a hard days work of eating Turkey, and stuffing, and yams, and mashed potatos with gravy, and corn, and fresh rolls with butter....

After the Movie, we ran up stairs and each had several pieces of yummy Pie. It was a perfect ending to one really fun Day.. Mike, Jackson and Cooper, I am Thankful for you. You are my favorite.. Thank you for one awesome day!!
